No VAT on foreign doctors’ fees for treating July uprising injured

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has exempted the Value Added Tax (VAT) on fees, hotel rents (hospitality costs) for foreign doctors providing treatment to people injured in Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

NBR in a notification on Sunday (Feb 2) said, the exemption applies to fees, consultancy charges, and hotel accommodation for doctors invited by the Directorate General of Health Services or relevant hospital authorities to provide treatment.

Under the Value Added Tax and Supplementary Duty Act, 2012, private and public entities which are now providing medical and health services are now enjoying VAT exemption.
