Milik strike sends Juve into Coppa Italia final

A late goal that Timothy Weah set up for Arkadiusz Milik earned Juventus a spot in the Italian Cup final on Tuesday (Apr 23 ) keeping alive the Turin squad’s chances of winning its first trophy in three years. While Lazio won the second leg of their semifinal 2-1, Juventus advanced 3-2 on aggregate.

A late goal by striker Arkadiusz Milik sent Juventus into the final of Coppa Italia with a 3-2 aggregate win over Lazio despite a 2-1 defeat in the second leg of their semi-final on Tuesday (Apr 23).

Forward Valentin Castellanos outjumped the Juve defence to give Lazio the lead on the night with a towering header in the 12th minute, nodding home a Luis Alberto corner.

Castellanos added a second after the break when Alberto teed him up just outside the box to level the tie, but substitute Milik scored from close range seven minutes from time, netting a cross by Timothy Weah.

Atalanta host Fiorentina in the other semi-final on Wednesday after the Viola earned a 1-0 advantage in the first leg.

Juventus has won the Italian Cup a record 14 times, with its title in 2021 the most recent trophy the Bianconeri have claimed.

By reaching the final, Massimiliano Allegri's side also qualified for next season’s four-team Italian Super Cup.
