All schools, colleges closed till Feb 6

Health Minister Zahid Maleque today said all schools, colleges and equivalent educational institutions will remain closed for the next two weeks – from today till Feb 6 – amid a surge in Covid-19 transmission across the country. The Cabinet Division today issued a notification in this regard. The universities have been advised to take necessary measures to this end, local media reported.

No religious, political, social and state event will be allowed to have more than a 100 people. Participants must obtain either vaccination certificate or negative RT-PCR Covid-19 test report not older than 24 hours prior to joining such events, the notification read.

Everyone must wear mask at all public places including kitchen markets, shopping malls, bus stand, launch ghat, railway station, among others.

Local administration and law enforcers will be constantly monitoring the situation, it added.
