Cover of CD titled ‘Bangabandhu Ke Niye Gaan’ unwrapped

The cover of a CD named ‘Bangabandhu Ke Niye Gaan’, containing 11 songs on Bangabandhu, was unwrapped on Monday (Dec 27) at Nazrul Mancha of Bangla Academy in Dhaka.

Bangladesh Sangeet Parishad has released the CD paying tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and marking the golden jubilee of the independence of the country.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni and Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Administration HN Ashiqur Rahman, Bangladesh University of Professional’s Bangabandhu Chair Professor Dr Syed Anowar Hossain, Parishad president Ashiqur Rahman, secretary-general Ferdows Hossain and senior vice president Sheikh Sadi Khan uncovered the CD, local media reported.

The ministers, in their speeches, paid rich tribute to Bangabandhu and extended thanks to the Sangeet Parishad for taking the initiative.

Hasina Mamtaz, Khurshid Alam, Rathindranath Roy, Md Rafiqul Alam, Shahin Samad, Timir Nandi, Fatema-tuz-Zohra, Linu Billha, Tapan Chowdhury, Rehana Ashiqur Rahman, Kamal Ahmed, and about 50 singers sang those songs.

Sheikh Sadi Khan, AK Azad Mintu, Foad Naser Babu, Badrul Alam Bakul, Anisur Rahman Tanu, Sujeyo Shyam, and Md Shahnewaz conducted melody and music while lyricists Ferdows Hossain Bhuiyan, Shafat Khoiyam, Kazi Rozi, Chowdhury Abida Rahman, and Abam Salauddin wrote the songs.
