Bangladesh conceded a four-wicket defeat to Sri Lanka in the first official warm-up game at ADC Oval 2 ground in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday (Oct 12).

Opting to bat first, the Tigers put up a moderate 147-7 in the stipulated 20 overs. However, Sri Lanka raced to the victory after a minor trouble, making 148-6 in 19 overs.

Avishka Fernando led the way with a brilliant 42 ball-62. His knock came at the moment when Bangladesh left Sri Lanka in pressurized situation, reducing them to 79-6 in 12 overs.

Fernando was ably supported by Chamika Karunaratne who blazed away with an unbeaten 25-ball 29 as Sri Lanka got over the ropes with an over and four wickets to spare.

For Bangladesh, Mahedi Hasan claimed 1-22 while Soumya Sarkar grabbed two wickets. Soumya also played his part well with willow as he blasted 34 off 26 to lay the foundation for the side.

However the other batsmen failed to utilize the platform set by Soumya. Mahedi Hasan chipped-in-with 16 while Nurul Hasan Sohan was the other notable scorer with 15. Mushfiqur Rahim made run-a-ball-15 and Afif Hossain scored 11.
