Closure of schools, colleges extended till Jun 30

The government has extended closure of educational institutions across the country till Jun 30 to contain the spread of coronavirus. The online academic activities will continue and the students and guardians are urged to follow the health guidelines during the closure.

The education ministry has decided to extend the ongoing closure of all secondary and higher secondary educational institutions till Jun 30, as a preventive measure against further spread of coronavirus. The decision will also be applicable for Ebtedayee and Qawmi madrasas, local media reported.

After consultation with concerned advisory committee, the ministry has taken the decision considering the safety and security of students, teachers, employees and guardians as different regions of the country are witnessing a surge in coronavirus cases and partial lockdowns have been imposed.

Earlier, the government had decided to reopen schools and colleges, in phases, from Jun 13.
