Education institutions to reopen, if situation comes under control

Education Minister Dipu Moni said educational institutions would reopen on Jun 13, if Covid-19 situation comes under control. The minister was speaking at a commemorative meeting for former law minister late Abdul Matin Khasru at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Saturday (May 29), local media reported.

Dipu Moni said all necessary measures were taken for the reopening the institutions, but according experts, it should not be wise to reopen educational institutions until coronavirus infection drops below five per cent.

She said the institutions would not be reopened under pressure of anyone’s movement as more requests being received to keep close educational institutions rather reopening those.

On 27 May, Dipu Moni announced to reopen educational institutions from Jun 13.
