Bangladesh Bank has fixed the banking hours from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. from Monday (Apr 5) amid the lockdown to halt sharp rise of Covid-19 cases in the country.
Banks will remain open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. while the transaction will be made between 10 a.m. and 12.30 p.m., said a central bank circular issued on Sunday.
The new time will continue until Apr 11 except weekly and government holidays, the circular added.
The government on Sunday issued a notification imposing lockdown from April 5 to April 11 to halt the sharp rise of Covid-19 in the country. According to the notification, movement of public transports – bus, train, launch and plane – will remain suspended while public and private offices and business establishments will be closed during the lockdown.
