Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Saturday (Jul 25) fixed 256 spots for the sacrificial activities marking Eid-ul-Azha, one of the largest religious festival of Muslims. DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam disclosed the matter in an online meeting with City Corporation officials in the morning, local media reported.
Monitoring maintenance of health guidelines should be strengthened in cattle markets during the Covid-19 pandemic, the mayor said, adding that a ten-member body of councillors has been formed in this regard.
A total of 11,508 cleaners and DNCC staff will be deployed at field level for the post-Qurbani clean-up operation, he said.
Besides manpower, 430 vehicles have been requisitioned to complete the work, he added.
Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in Bangladesh on Saturday (Aug 1).
