Bangladesh Awami League advisory council member Amir Hossain Amu has been made the coordinator and spokesperson of the central 14-party alliance. Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader revealed the information through a video message from his official residence in Dhaka on Wednesday (Jul 8), local media reported.
In consultation with the allies of the 14-party alliance, he said, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina has given the responsibility of the alliance’s coordinator and spokesperson to senior politician and Awami League advisory council member Amir Hossain Amu.
Meanwhile, the Workers Party of Bangladesh in a statement congratulated Amu as he was made the coordinator and spokesperson of the central 14-party alliance.
The post remained vacant after the death of Awami League presidium member Mohammed Nasim on Jun 13.
