Public transport services to remain suspended for 10 days

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said public transport services will remain suspended from Mar 26 to Apr 4 across the country aiming to contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

In a video message, he said truck, covered van and the vehicles carrying medicine, fuel and perishable items will remain out of its purview.

“Considering the safely of commoners, the government has decided to lockdown the public transports,” the minister said, adding that no passenger can travel by goods-laden vehicles during the period.

The Road Transport and Bridges Ministry also issued a notification in this regard today, local media reported.
