Three new coronavirus patients detected in Bangladesh

Bangladesh government on Friday (Mar 20) declared that three more people were infected with the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19), raising the number of corona cases to 20 in the country.

“We have detected three new coronavirus patients. Of them, one person is 30-year-old female and the other two persons are male of 30 and over 70,” Additional Director General of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana told at a press briefing at the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) in Dhaka.

Nasima said the three persons are members of separate families. Of them, one person is Italy returnee.

The 70-year old man is now at Intensive Coronary Unit (ICU) in a critical condition with co-morbidity, she said.

While briefing the media, the DGHS official urged to follow the instructions of World Health Organization (WHO) to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
