Khaleda’s relatives meet her at BSMMU

Five relatives of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia met her at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Friday (Feb 21) afternoon.

Her younger brother Shamim Eskander, his wife Kaniz Fatema, son Avik Eskander, nephews Shafin Eskander and Shahariar Haque entered the Cabin Block of BSMMUin the afternoon but they did not speak to reporters during the visit.

Khaleda was admitted to BSMMU after she fell sick on Apr 1 last year. She has been in jail since Feb 8, 2018 after being convicted in two corruption cases.

On Feb 11, five relatives, including her sister Selima, met Khaleda at the hospital. Later, they demanded her release for better treatment abroad.

The court is scheduled to hear Khaleda’s bail plea on Sunday, reports said.
