SSC, equivalent exams rescheduled to Feb 3

This year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations will begin on Feb 3 instead of Feb 1. The Education Ministry took the decision today, as the polls to the two Dhaka city corporations will be held on Feb 1, local media reported.

The polls to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) were scheduled to held on Jan 30. However, on that day, Saraswati Puja, one of the major religious festivals of the Hindu community, will be celebrated in the country.

Amid widespread criticism, and movement by a group of Dhaka University students, the commission rescheduled the elections date to Feb 1.
