UK elections: Tulip, Rushanara, Rupa re-elected

Bangladeshi-origin candidates Tulip Siddiq, Rushanara Ali and Rupa Huq were re-elected as parliament members in the UK national election.

Tulip Siddiq, granddaughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, won a landslide victory in the UK general election with Labour Party ticket. Voters in the North London constituency of Hampstead and Kilburn re-elected her as their MP.

Labour MP Tulip Siddiq has been electing as lawmaker in the seat since 2015 increasing her vote share in the 2017 elections.

Besides, another two Bangladesh-origin Rushanara Ali and Rupa Huq were also re-elected in the elections from their respective constituencies, local media repored.
