Income tax fair to begin on Nov 14

Weeklong Income Tax Fair will begin across the country on Nov 14 aiming to extend tax related services and raise awareness on tax.

Like the previous years, National Board of Revenue (NBR) is organizing the fair. In the divisional headquarters, the fair will continue till Nov 20 while in the capital, the fair will taken place in the Officers’ Club premise.

Besides, the fair in all the district towns will last for four days while two days in 45 upazilas. In addition, one day fair will be held in 57 growth centers in upazila level, local media reported.

The taxpayers will be able to file tax returns and do other related tasks at the fair. Tax officials will help the taxpayers in this regard, but they (taxpayers) will have to bring the required documents only, said NBR officials.

New taxpayers can collect e-TIN (electronic tax identification number) at the fair while other taxpayers also can collect e-TIN through re-registration, they added.

Separate booths will be set up at the fair venues for e-payment as well as freedom fighters, women, people with disabilities and elderly taxpayers.
