100+ students receives free laptop at DIIT

To prepare the students for the 21st century and to adapt them to the latest ICT friendly education which will develop their knowledge, skills and abilities to fit globally, Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT) distributed 116 Laptop at free of cost among the students on Monday (Sep 23) at 71 Milonayotin of Daffodil International University.

Professor Dr. Atiur Rahman, Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank and Professor of the Department of Development Studies, Dhaka University was present as the chief guest at the Laptop Distribution Ceremony.

Presided over by Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University, Professor Dr. Hafiz Md. Hasan Babu, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic), National University, and Professor Shibli Rubayat, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka and Chairman, governing body of DIIT, was present as the special guest. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of Daffodil family was present as the guest of honor.

While addressing as the chief guest, Dr. Atiur Rahman said, technology is now a part and parcel of teaching and learning. Present government is working relentlessly for the development of the ICT sector of the country and that’s why people now staying in the remote areas can get all sorts of facilities.

He thanked the university authority to implement the project “One Student-One Laptop” with the vision of becoming a digital university in line with the policy of a step towards Digital Bangladesh. He urged the students to make best use of the laptop.

He also said that Freedom Fighters had sacrificed their lives dreaming for a beautiful Bangladesh and young generation should mould themselves to make Bangladesh as Digital Bangladesh proving their efficiency to take Bangladesh in a new height.

Dr. Atiur said that a leader can make dream, make inspiration and help to fulfill the dream. It is our proud that DIIT is doing that work. This institute is spreading dream among thousands of students through distributing laptop which is a rear case.

Dr. Atiur also said that life and education is not stay away from each other. DIIT is including education and life. It’s really appreciable. DIIT is trying to provide technology based education which makes skill human resources. In the meantime he thanked Daffodil for taking this gigantic initiative.

Dr. Hafiz Md. Hasan Babu said this laptop distribution is a rear case in Bangladesh. There is no doubt that DIIT is playing a vital role to build skill human resource.

He also said that digital revolution is going on in Bangladesh. That day is not so far when we can control our AC, fridge, light, fan etc. from our private car or office. Our students are so much talented that Bangladesh would be turned into digital Bangladesh through these students.

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said to his presidential speech that technology is now a partand parcel of teaching and learning. 

So we have to build our future generation for professional life through technological education.
