Joy, Lekhak Chhatra League’s acting president, general secretary

Amid various controversies, Bangladesh Chhatra League President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and General Secretary Golam Rabbani have been removed from their respective posts. Vice-president Al Nahian Khan Joy and Joint Secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee were given the charge of Chhatra League acting President and acting General Secretary respectively.

Chhatra League Vice-President Al Nahian Khan Joy and Joint General Secretary Lekhak Bhattacharya have been made acting president and general secretary of the student front of the Bangladesh Awami League respectively. They replaced Chhatra League President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and General Secretary Golam Rabbani as they were removed from their respective posts. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Awami League Central Working Committee held at Ganabhaban on Saturday (Sep 14) night, local media reported.

Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and Golam Rabbani were removed last night from the posts of Chhatra League president and General Secretary for their controversial activities. Bangladesh Awami League President Sheikh Hasina made this decision on the two leaders of the pro-Awami League student body.

Hasina also asked for holding the Awami League triennial council on Dec 20-21. The party chief was addressing a meeting of Awami League Central Working Committee, highest decision-making body of the ruling party.
