20th Textech Bangladesh Expo begins

A four-day long international exposition on textile and garment sector, ‘20th Textech Bangladesh International Expo 2019’ kicked off in city’s International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) on Wednesday (Sep 4). Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun inaugurated the exhibitions as chief guest while Ministry of Textiles and Jute secretary Mohammed Belayet Hossain was present as special guest.

Alongside the Textech exposition, two other exhibitions styled “16th Dhaka International Yarn and Fabric Show 2019 - Summer Edition” and “38th Dye+Chem Bangladesh 2019 International Expo” also began at the same venue.

CEMS-Global Conference & Exhibition Management Services Ltd, is hosting the exhibitions.

First Vice-President, Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) Mansoor Ahmed, Group CEO, CEMS Global S. S. Sarwar, and President and Group Managing Director, CEMS Global, Meherun N. Islam were also present on the occasion.

In the exhibitions, more than 1,300 companies from China, India, Germany, UK, USA, Taiwan, Japan, Turkey, Italy, Sri-Lanka, among other countries, will exhibit their products and services through 1,500 booths, showcasing the latest developments, local media reported.

Organizer said that visitors will find the biggest display of international yarn, fabrics, trims, accessories, chemical, dyes, machinery and other related products and services.

A symposium entitled ‘Green Chemistry and Sustainable Chemical Management for Bangladesh Textile Growth’ organized by CEMS Global in association with ESTex-BUET will be held today (Thursday) at the side bench of the expo. It will provide the platform for stakeholders to discuss the key elements of chemical management and safety based on national and international policy and rules.
