To mark the day, a discussion will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) Thursday morning. Jatiyo Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Choudhury will attend the discussion as the chief guest, local media reported.

President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages praying profound respect to Bangamata.

Bangladesh Television, Bangladesh Betar and other electronic media will broadcast special programmes.

Bangladesh Awami League, various political, social, cultural and student organizations, including associated bodies of Awami League, will observe the day in a befitting manner through elaborate programmes across the country.
