Hundreds of people thronged Kamalapur Railway Station in city on Wednesday (May 22) to purchase train tickets in advance for travelling during the Eid-ul-Fitr. Tickets for May 31 are being sold on the first day.
Tickets for Jun 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be available on May 23, 24, 25 and 26 respectively.
Besides, return tickets for Jun 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 will be available on May 29, 30, 31, Jun 1 and 2 respectively.
The sale began at 9 a.m. and will continue until 5 p.m. Each person will be able to buy a maximum of four tickets.
Eight pairs of special trains will run on different routes during the Eid.
