Met office forecasts rains across the country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted rain or thundershowers in all eight divisions in the next 24 hours commencing from 9 a.m. Monday (May 6).

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Khulna, Barishal, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions with hails at isolated places in the 24-hour, said a Met office bulletin.

Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions and it may abate from most places.

Day temperature may fall by 1-3 degrees Celsius and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.

The country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 40.3 degrees Celsius at Chuadanga, and the minimum temperature today was 19.7 degrees Celsius at Sylhet.

Rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6 a.m. on Monday was recorded 124mm at Srimangal.
