Entirely ‘Made in Bangladesh’ IoT (internet of things) based smart delivery locker will be launched at the metro-rail stations in the capital soon. Through this automatic delivery box, metro-rail users can collect the delivery of the products ordered on their e-commerce platform without the presence of a deliveryman, just through smart phone through OTP very easily and conveniently from these smart lockers installed at metro-rail stations, said a press release of a2i Programme on Sunday (Apr 30).

An agreement was signed between Aspire to Innovate (a2i) of ICT Division and Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL). A2i Project Director Dr. Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir and DMTCL Secretary (joint secretary) Mohammad Abdur Rouf signed the agreement on behalf of the respective institutions. DMTCL Managing Director MAN Siddique witnessed the agreement signing as the chief guest.

Under this agreement, a2i will use certain spaces in all metro-rail stations under MRT-6 on a commercial basis following the terms and conditions set out in DMTCL's Rent or Lease Policy 2023.

DMTCL MRT Line-6 Project Director Md Aftabuddin Talukder, a2i Programme Policy Adviser Anir Chowdhury and a2i Program Head of Commercial Strategy Rezwanul Haque Jami also spoke on the occasion, among others.
