Bangladeshi hard rock band Warfaze has returned with a new song, ‘Ma’ for the month of Independence. The song will be released on Mar 22. In a press release, the band announced, “As we mentioned earlier, we will bring our audience a plethora of new songs from 2023 onwards. Accordingly, we released a new song, 'Maya', last October on the Gaan App. Now, we are ready to release our new track, ‘Ma’, in this month of Liberation.”
‘Ma’ has been penned by the nationally renowned songwriter and lyricist, the late Nayeem Gohor. Warfaze legend Babna Karim voiced and composed the song.
Through this song, the late Nayeem Gohor – who received the coveted Swadhinata Padak for his timeless and exceptional contributions to music and literature – will be remembered and honoured for his work.
In the press release, the band's statement acknowledged the legend further by saying, “We feel very honoured and privileged to be able to turn the inspiring and timeless words of his written song, ‘Ma’, which we collected from his last set of poetry, into our own song. Notably, this was one of those patriotic compositions penned before the Liberation War. We wish he was present among us and listened to this work of ours, which has been inspired by his words. We, Warfaze, thank his entire family for consenting to the use of his lyrics in our composition. We hope we have done justice to this great, renowned, lyricist of multidimensional talents.”
The new song has been produced, arranged, and performed by Warfaze, with Loyy Records being the label under which the song will be released.
While the song will see its official release on Mar 22 via Warfaze TV (YouTube), it was exclusively released on Mar 19 on the Shadhin Music app.
