Govt takes adequate security measures for Biswa Ijtema

The government has taken adequate security measures ahead of the first phase of Biswa Ijtema (World Muslim's Congregation) which will begin on Jan 13.

The first phase of Biswa Ijtema will begin on Jan 13 and it will end on Jan 15.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner of Gazipur Mollah Nazrul Islam told media that over 7,000 members of the law enforcement agencies will be deployed during the Biswa Ijtema to ensure proper security.

The second phase of the Biswa Ijtema will begin from Jan 20.

The Bishwa Ijtema takes place every year on the bank of river Turag in Tongi since 1967.
