Air Astra joins hand with ATAB to host tourism expo

Air Astra, the newly inducted local airline that is scheduled to be operational this month, joins hand with Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB) to support a three-day international tourism exposition. An agreement between Air Astra and ATAB was signed at a city hotel on Saturday (Nov 12), said a press release. Air Astra Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Asif and ATAB Secretary General Abdus Salam Aref inked the deal on behalf of the respective sides.

ATAB President Manzur Murshed, Vice-President Afsia Jannat Saleh and US Bangla Airlines General Manager Kamrul Islam also present, among others.

The fair titled "Bangladesh International Travel and Tourism Expo (BITTE)" will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the capital from Dec 1-3.

Earlier on Nov 3, Air Astra got the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to operate commercial domestic flights from the regulatory body Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB).

The airliner is going to inaugurate its domestic operation with four 70-seat turboprop ATR 72-600 aircraft by this month.
