Quantum Foundation honors voluntary blood donors

The Quantum Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to personal growth and serving humanity in the country, on Tuesday (Oct 25) honored 403 voluntary blood donors at a function in the city.

Each recipient was given a certificate, an identity card and a crest under three categories of donating blood three times, 10 times and 25 times, a press release said.      

Of the total award recipients, 24 are members of the golden club, who donated blood 25 times, 180 silver members, who donated 10 times, and 199 are lifetime members, who donated blood three times.    

Additional Secretary of the Power Division SM Enamul Kabir was present at the award distribution ceremony at Institute of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh here with Quantum Foundation Advisor Professor Dr Zahir Uddin Ahmad in the chair.    

Director (motivation) of voluntary blood donation programme of the Quantum Foundation M Rezaul Hasan delivered the welcome address at the function.

According to the release, in order to meet the huge demand for blood, the Quantum Foundation has been creating awareness among the people and carrying out voluntary blood donation programme since 1996.

It has been able to help around 13 lakh people, supplying safe blood in the last two decades, the release added.
