Sikandar Raza's second ton in consecutive matches and skipper Regis Chakabva's 75-ball 102, saw Zimbabwe clinch the second ODI by five wickets to clinch their first ODI series against Bangladesh since 2013.

Sikandar Raza scored a sensational 117 not out and added 201 runs with captain Regis Chakabva (102) as Zimbabwe beat Bangladesh by five wickets in the second ODI to win the series on Sunday (Aug 7).

Chasing 291 to win, Zimbabwe were reeling at 49/4 after 15 overs when Raza and Chakabva resurrected the chase with a brilliant partnership before Mehidy Hasan dismissed the latter in the 44th over.

With 41 runs needed off 41 balls, Tony Munyonga smashed 30 off 16 balls as the hosts got over the line with 15 balls to spare. After losing 19 ODIs in a row to Bangladesh, Zimbabwe have won two in a row and followed up their T20I series with the ODI series win.

After being put in to bat by the hosts, the Tigers were off to a good start with captain Tamim Iqbal scoring a brisk 50 off 45 balls as they reached 71 in 11 overs. However, Tanaka Chavinga accounted for the dismissals of Tamim and his partners Anamul Haque.

Despite losing four wickets for 148 runs, Mahmudullah (80 not out) and Afif Hossain (41) added 81 runs steady the innings. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals after Raza sent back Afif, but Mahmudullah kept the score ticking at the other end.

Raza was pick of the Zimbabwe bowlers with 3-56 as Bangladesh posted 290/9 in 50 overs.

The third ODI will be played at the Harare Sports Club on Wednesday (Aug 11).
