What is mycitycell Zoom?
mycitycell Zoom is CityCell's unparalleled Data Service solution that functions as a wireless internet connection as well as a mobile phone.

What is the technology and how do I use it?
CityCell's Data Service runs on CDMA2000 1X platform. One can avail this wireless data service through a PCMCIA Data Card / USB Data Modem via a Laptop or a Desktop PC from any location under CityCell's network coverage. No telephone connection is needed to connect to the internet.
Another option is a wap-based handset or handsets with internal modem (e.g. Nokia-3155, Nokia-6235). Through the WAP supported handsets, you can browse the internet directly; and the handsets with internal modem can be connected to a PC/laptop for getting internet access. In this case, the handset works as a modem.

As a technology, how fast/good is CDMA 2000 1X compared to EDGE/GPRS?
The CDMA2000 1X technology, on which our Data Service runs, is the fastest technology in the telecommunications sector of Bangladesh. Theoretically, our technology offers you 5 ~6 times more speed compared to that of GPRS and little better than that of EDGE. At actual, you can expect atleast thrice the speed of any other data service technology in the country. In the concurrent usage, the Speed will be minimum 38 kbps with good network conditions.

What is my benefit in using this Wireless Internet connection?
Primarily you can get benefit in three ways:
• Convenience with speed
• Connectivity anywhere within our countrywide coverage, this is the genuine mobility service.
• Value for the Money you pay for the service.

In addition, you can get high-speed Internet access in a car, train, with clients, or any place where you can operate your mobile/laptop under CityCell's robust network.

mycitycell Zoom offers you the most unique feature of VPN (Virtual Private Network) Service to get access to your corporate network. With this VPN Service, you can get connected to your corporate network or LAN and enjoy all the facilities of your netwrok including your corporate e-mail service.

What are the modalities & prices of your Wireless Data Devices?
CityCell offers you two Data Devices. Below are the details:
• USB Data Modem (Huawei EC325 Data USB Modem): Tk. 8,200 + connection price
• PCMCIA Data Card (Huawei EC321 Data Card): Tk. 7,200 + connection price
• Connection Price: Tk. 800
Every device comes with a free installation CD, installation guide, a hands-free device and a manual.

What is the warranty-period for the data devices?
1 (One) Year warranty on device, along with life-time after-sales service.

What are the other features of your data devices?

My company would like to avail CityCell CDMA 2000 1X Data Service [mycitycell Zoom]. What are the necessary requirements?
By purchasing a minimum number of new mycitycell Zoom Connections in your company's name, you can become a Corporate Client of Citycell Data Solutions Service. Kindly submit a purchase letter in your organization’s letterhead addressed to Head of Corporate Sales, Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Ltd. and your company can avail corporate facilities. In addition to this, we would also require user’s company ID and 2 passport-size photographs (as per BTRC Rule).

I am an employee of XYZ Organization. I would like to enjoy similar benefits compared to my company connections. How is that possible?
We have a special package for employees of organization who will be able to enjoy exact benefits/facilities as a corporate connection.  To avail this, please contact your Relationship Manager. All we need is copy of your ID card and 2 passport-size photographs. Please submit the requirement in your organization’s letterhead addressed to the Head of Corporate and Direct Sales, Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Ltd. In addition to this, we would also require a refundable deposit as per the mentioned credit limit plan.

What papers do I need to purchase a data connection?
You need to submit 2 copies of your photograph and a copy of your Photo-ID to purchase a mycitycell Zoom data connection.

How long would it take to get a new connection activated?
The activation time needed for data customers are:
• Weekdays (Sunday - Thursday): 24 hours
• Weekends (Friday - Saturday): 48 hours

I have purchased mycitycell Zoom Data Solutions package. How can I setup the connection?
The detailed setup instruction sheet is provided to you with the package you have bought. Please follow the instructions written over there. In addition, you can also call the customer care or your respective Relationship Manager (for corporate customers only).

How can I know my current data usage before getting the bill?
From your data connection software (Huawei Mobile Connect), click ‘Tools’, then ‘Volume Statistics’. You shall be able to view your approximate usage (the actual usage will vary from the amount showed in the mentioned software). The usage showed in the software is higher than your actual usage. Alternatively, you may contact your Relationship Manger (RM) or call the customer care.

You will be able to check your usage details from "Online Self Care" through CityCell website (www.citycell.com)

What should I do if my connection is disconnected due to exceeding credit limit?
All you have to do is to pay the bill through Cash Card, or pay the bill at the designated banks and send us the Bank Deposit Slip or send the paid bill copy to fax No- (02) 8823575 after paying the bill amount in the banks. You may also contact your Relationship Manager (RM).

How can I pay my Data Service bill?
You can pay your bills at the CityCell designated banks (list below) or through cash card.

Whom should I contact if I have any queries or complaints?
For any query or complain, please contact Customer Care or your Relationship Manager (corporate customers only).

What are the pre-requisites to get After-Sales Service?
For general corporate clients the procedure is to bring the ownership documents to avail any service from corporate customer care desk.
For the signed corporate clients, you need to contact the concerned Relationship Manager (RM).
For other customers, please communicate with customer care with your ownership documents.

I have lost my Corporate Data Connection? What should I do now?
The procedure is to make a General Diary (GD) at your nearest police station & submit the lost request application along with the original ownership documents and copy of GD with the customer care, or corporate customer care desk, or call your Relationship Manager, or fax the papers to (02) 9891061.

How can I get itemized bill?
Corporate Connections need to send a request letter to corporate@citycell.com or fax to 9891061 in their company’s letterhead.
General customers should submit an application at the customer care for the itemized bill. You may be charged a fee for the itemized bill.

mycitycell Zoom connection is currently deactivated. How may I reactivate my connection?
For general customers, please contact the customer care. For corporate customers, please contact your Relationship Manager (RM), or send a request letter in company’s letterhead addressed to the Head of Corporate Sales, Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Ltd.

My “Huawei Mobile Connect” software shows “No Network”. Why?
There could be a number of reasons when the “No Network” notice will be shown in the software:
• There is no RIM Card in the RIM Holder.
     o Please put the RIM Card in the RIM Holder and insert it into the device.
• The RIM Holder is not inserted into the device.
     o Please put the RIM Card in the RIM Holder and insert it into the device.
• The RIM Holder is not properly inserted into the device.
     o Please insert the RIM holder with the RIM Card fully into the device.
• The RIM Card is not installed in the RIM Holder.
     o Please put the RIM Card in the RIM Holder and insert it into the device.
• The RIM Card is not properly installed (or inserted) into the RIM Holder.
     o Please put the RIM Card in the RIM Holder and insert it into the device.
• If you are a PCMCIA Data Card user, then the antenna is not pulled out from the card.
     o Please pull out the antenna from the device.

Can I browse the internet through my handset as well?
You can surely browse through the internet using your handset. You can use the handset in two ways:
• WAP:
     o If you use a WAP enabled handset with a WAP enabled RIM (connection), and then you can browse the internet from your handset.
     o At present, the WAP enabled CDMA handsets in the market are: Nokia 3155 and Nokia 6235.
• Modem for Computer:
     o If you have a Data enabled handset (with MODEM feature) with a Data enabled RIM (connection), and then you can connect the handset with your computer using a Data Cable or IR Port (as applicable depending on the handset feature) to use the handset as a modem and to get connected to the internet.
     o At present, Nokia 2112, Nokia 3155, and Nokia 6235 handsets have the modem feature.
     o To setup a connection using the handset modem:
          i. Go to the New Connection Setup of your computer and make a new connection (needs elaboration)
          ii. For Nokia 6235, please type in the extra command line “at+crm=1” in the “Advanced” tab of the “Modem Properties”. Otherwise, the connection will not work.

Can I have Voice Service in my “mycitycell Zoom” Data connection?
Yes. All the data connections have CityCell One (or equivalent/converted new package) connectivity, unless you have chosen any other voice connectivity.

May I know my specific data usage so far in a single billing cycle? Also what is my usage over the bundle usage plan?
Yes. It is going to be provided in three phases:
• At present situation, please call your respective RM (Relationship Manager) to know the details.
• Please call customer care. The information will be available in the Unicorn system, or call your respective RM (Relationship Manager) to know the details.
• Please login to the Online Self Care System through CityCell website. You can also call our customer care.

What should I have in my laptop to use a PCMCIA Data Card?
Your laptop needs to be equipped with a PCMCIA Slot of Type 2.

My laptop does not have a PCMCIA Slot. What should I use?
You can surely use a USB Data Modem to use the mycitycell Zoom connection.

My laptop is equipped with a Mini PCMCIA Slot. What should I use?
You can surely use USB Data Modem to use the mycitycell Zoom connection. We do not yet have any PCMCIA Data Card with the specification of Mini PCMCIA standard.

What is the maximum speed that mycitycell Zoom connection can provide?
153.6 kbps (Equivalent to 19.2 Kilo Byte Per Second).

How Can I avoid possibility of disconnection?
General customers can communicate with the call center to know your bill details. Corporate customers can call to their respective Relationship Managers (RM). Alternatively, any customer can visit CityCell web page and log on to "Online Self Care" to know your usage and bill status . In addition, you can pay your bills in advance through CityCell Cash Card or by visiting any of CityCell's bill receiving points.

What are the coverage area?
mycitycell Zoom can be used in all places under CityCell's coverage area around the country. (61 Districts, 470 Thanas).

Can I switch from my existing data package to another package? If yes, then how?
You can surely switch from your existing data package to another package. All you have to do is visit a customer care point of CityCell, inform about your requirements, and pay the migration charges (Tk. 100.00 + 15% VAT).

Can I take only RUIM?
Yes, you can take only RUIM. In that case, you have to pay connection charge of TK. 800.

Can I add data to my existing postpaid package?
Yes, you can take data to your existing postpaid package with a charge of Tk. 100 + 15% VAT. You may need to submit additional security deposit.

Can I configure my POP3 e-mail?
Yes, you can configure your POP3 e-mail. Please refer to the "Data Service FAQ" prepared by the engineering department.

Can I take prepaid connection?
No.

Can I transfer my postpaid connection to prepaid connection?
Sorry, a postpaid connection cannot be transferred into a prepaid connection.

Yes, you can surely take data connection in the middle of your bill cycle.
