Unlike the ambience, the food served is delicious. Spicy, crunchy Fried Chicken costs an amazing Tk. 75 for a single meal! Other meals available are burgers and an appetizing Chicken Corn soup for only Tk. 25! ARABIAN FAST FOOD

It's the cheapest little pizza house in town! Situated in Dhanmondi, this calm and well-kept hideaway offers a tasty range of pizzas, Arabian shawarmas and sandwiches. Arabian Fast Food boasts some 20 different kinds of pizzas from Pizza Four Season, which has a bit of everything, to their chicken pizza, Prosuto! Their prices are extremely fair (their highest priced pizza costs only Tk. 230 for a large size!) Other specialties include shawarmas starting from Tk. 30 each! They also have a neighborhood delivery service.

HELVETIA:

Situated in Dhanmondi and Banani, this fast food chain provides excellent chicken broast. Chicken broast is deep fried chicken which is very crispy and tasty to eat. Prices are a bit high for everyday visits but definitely worth the money! The décor at Helvetia is very snazzy and is a great hangout joint. Their Banani branch also has a special section for children consisting of a small play room and kiddy rides.

This a popular fast food joint in Dhanmondi catering all kinds of meals for all types of tastes. Both self and waiter service is available here. Situated on busy Bailey Road, this is a well known fast food joint of Dhaka. It started of as a street side café and now has grown into a proper outlet with seating and nice décor. Their specialty is the fried chicken which is a wonderful snack to buy.

BIG BITE:

At Hatirpool. A nice place to stop for a snack, it is probably the best fast food restaurant in that area. Big Bite is very popular among the Dhaka University students, as their campus is nearby. The interior is very snazzy based on the American 50s with pictures of James Dean and others. Another nice décor is the life size wristwatch they have on the wall! Prices are very reasonable and all items are good to eat.

WIMPYS:

The first international fast food chain to open up in Bangladesh, it provides the famous Wimpy's Hamburger known the world over. Situated in Banani, it houses a spacious interior with an adjoining play area for the young ones. Prices are a bit high and not suitable for an everyday visit, but it is a good for fast food.

YUMMY YUMMY:

They have many branches all over the city. They are a joint Canadian - Bangladeshi venture providing economical and quality fast food. A must try are their numerous kinds of cool drinks such as the raspberry slush with icecream.

AMERICAN FRIED CHICKEN:

This little fast food joint is located on the plush roadside of Gulshan Avenue. So couples obviously try to make it a regular on weekends. The nice thing is American Fried Chicken (AFC) has an interior that caters to both family and couples or maybe even a place to have a quiet drink by yourself and go over some office notes. It has a party area and one which is a dimly lit corner with well-spaced private tables. The food with self-service is good and, as the name suggests, fried chicken is obviously a favourite. Prices are between 250-300 taka for two with the lowest item of the list having a price tag of 35 taka.

DAHLIA'S

Dahlia's is among those in fast food outlets in Dhaka that has stayed out of the limelight of the usual big names and become a hit at the same time. This bustling little fast food joint does not look anything like a Burger King or is among the ranks of Sausly's but somewhere near to that level. They have identified their target and their menu and kept it at that. Dahlia's price range is very reasonable by the standards of taste and food they serve. From sandwiches at 15 taka onwards to the burgers starting at 30 taka, these guys also have a bad habit of selling off their French fries like anything. The menu isn't that diverse although they seem to have just the right variety for a satisfying lunch or quick snack. The Chicken Cheese burger is a must. The burgers are also surprisingly soft compared to other places. The décor is cute with a very cozy interior so you have to sit outside in chic little tables on a shaded roadside.

CANDY FLOSS

This 'place' is in the Dahlia clan, trying to get people to come back into their cramped serving outlet again without much of a hype. People do come back and these guys still stick to their original floor plan and the food too always tastes great. We personally liked the Sundae, dressed with two tiers of vanilla and strawberry, fruits, nuts and dried raisins of that make you think about ancient Arabia. No, its not an ice-cream parlor, Candy Floss has burgers, rolls, sandwiches and a few chicken specialties on their menus. Prices are higher, expensive to some. Décor has to be taken outside to the parking space because that is where you are brought the food inside your car once you have ordered. Candy Floss has pioneered the practice of 'car service' or eating in your car. But even if you don't have a car, push your way in and order something - you won't regret it!

DOMINOUS PIZZA

This is a popular joint in Mohakhali Rail Crossing, featuring all kinds of delicious meals for all types of tastes. They make warm and tasty pizzas including the Pizza Dominous, which contains all the toppings you could ask for from beef salami to mushrooms and cheese. Another delight served here is their Chicken Brochette. Prices are very reasonable and suitable for all types of wallets and quality of the food served is good. They also offer a home delivery service with a 10% extra charge. They're open from 11:30am till 12am, and delivery services runs till 11pm.

FRIENDLY

Don't be surprised by the name, these guys are truly amiable and the ambience warm and pleasing! A low-key fast food joint, Friendly serves some tasty and common fast-food items. Some of their savories include scrumptious Samosas and Chicken Patties that melt in the mouth! Their Club Sandwich is also recommended.

MARHABA BROAST

Though not quite as good as Helvetia, this quiet and simple joint still fries up some chicken that's not only tasty but also easy on the wallet. Chicken meals are only 80 taka each, and hearty 4 piece drum-stick meals cost only 100 bucks, including fries and bread. Though other kinds of fast food are available, we recommend that you stick to the chicken!
