CSE chief speaks on online share trading
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) is expected to introduce online share trading
within next three months, CSE president Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, MP,
said.
He explained that CSE would soon strike a deal with a company abroad to ensure
monetary transaction through Internet in an easiest way. This will be a
completely web-based trading system.
"Internet is so available these days, investors from home and abroad will be
able to trade share directly from their own personal computers (PCs) at a
cheaper cost," Chowdhury told the bangladeshinfo.com in an exclusive
interview.
Expecting a success of the planned online share trading, the
businessman-cum-politician believed that the Internet trading would be popular
among local investors, especially those who remained busy with other business
and could not visit their brokers whenever required.
The CSE president, also the Chairman of South Asian Federation of Exchanges
(SAFE), said that the online trading system would help investors to have a
market picture from anywhere of the world.
As part of launching the Internet trading, a team of CSE led by Amir Khasru
Mahmud Chowdhury, organised a seminar in London recently. They tried to make
the non-resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) aware of the Bangladesh capital market.
The NRBs welcomed the CSE's initiative with great enthusiasm.
