Fernandinho signs new City deal

Fernandinho signs new City deal

Fernandinho has signed a contract extension with Manchester City, committing himself to the club until 2020. Talks have been ongoing between City and Fernandinho for a number of months, with the 32-year-old's previous contract due to expire in the summer. The Brazil international has now agreed a deal which will see him remain at the Etihad for at least another two seasons, media reports said on Saturday (Jan 20).

Fernandinho joined City from Shakhtar Donetsk for £30m in 2013 and he has since gone on to make 212 appearances for the club in all competitions.

The defensive midfielder has already played 30 games this season, including 23 appearances in the Premier League.
