PRAN Chinigura Rice Nabanna Utsab kicks off on Thursday

A three-day ‘PRAN Chinigura Rice Nabanna Utsab’ will kick off at Rabindra Sarobar in Dhaka on Thursday. The festival will remain open for all from 8 am to 8 pm every day.

The information regarding the program was disclosed at a press conference held on Tuesday at a hotel in the city.

Mohammad Shahan Shah Azad, Chief Operating Officer at Banga Millers Limited, said “We are losing many traditional festivals from our culture in the course of time.  PRAN Chinigura  Rice is sponsoring the Nabanna Utsab in a bid to seeping the traditional celebrations into the urban sphere.”

A total of 30 stalls will display various types of traditional cakes at the festival. The program will also include traditional music, dance, puppet show, merry-go-round, reciting punthi, bioscope, palki, lathi khela and monkey-dance show.

Popular singers including Indra Mohan Rajbobgshi, Chisty Baul, Fakir Sahabuddin, Abu Bakar Siddique, Lily islam, Anima Roy and Ferdousi Kakoli will perform at the Nabanna Utsab.

Mustafizur Rahman, Category Manager of Banga Millers Ltd, Maksud Rahman, Category Manager of PRAN Dairy Ltd, Adil Khan, Head of Operations of Xpedev and Monjurul Islam, Coordinator of Scholars Bangladesh Foundation, were present at the press conference.
