Bangladesh Premier League 21st Match at Sylhet, Jan 19

Rangpur Riders, the defending champions of Bangladesh Premier League, beat Sylhet Sixers by four wickets on Saturday (Jan 19), chasing the highest total of the season. 

Sylhet posted 194/4 in the first innings at Sylhet International Stadium. Rangpur chased it down in fashion with three balls to play (195/6 in 19.3 overs).

Rilee Rossouw’s highest 61 runs off 35 balls and AB de Villiers’ 34 runs off 21 balls helped the team of Mashrafe Mortaza to grab the win after three successive loss.

Sylhet scored 194 runs losing four wickets when Rangpur had sent them to bat first winning the toss. Sabbir Rahman took the highest 85 runs off 51 balls.

Chasing a huge 195-run target set by Sixers, Riders scored 196 runs losing six wickets.

Rossouw was adjudged Player of the match for hitting 61 runs with nine boundaries and two over-boundaries.

Sylhet and Rangpur will play their next matches against Khulna Titans. Rangpur will take on Khulna on Jan 22, Sylhet will play them on the 23rd.

It was Rangpur’s third win in seven matches and Sylhet’s fifth loss in seven games.
