Annisul Huq’s first death anniversary Friday

The first death anniversary of Dhaka North City Corporation mayor Annisul Huq will be observed on Friday (Nov 30).

A memorial discussion on was organized by the Federation of the Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) at its auditorium today commemorating the death anniversary of Annisul, local media reports said.

Annisul, who had been undergoing treatment at a hospital in London, breathed his last there on Nov 30, 2017 at the age of 65. He was laid to eternal rest at Banani graveyard on Dec 2.

Annisul Huq took oath as Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor on May 6, 2015.

Annisul was born on Oct 27, 1952 at Sonapur village under Sonagazi upazila in Noakhali district. According to sources, Annisul established his own business, Mohammadi Group in 1986.

He was the former president of several apex bodies including the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Federation of the Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Independent Power Producers Association.
