DU ‘Gha’ unit result published

The results of ‘Gha’ unit (combined unit for science, business studies and humanities group students) admission test of Dhaka University (DU) for 2018-2019 academic session under Social Science Faculty was published on Tuesday (Oct 16) amid allegation of question paper leak. DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman announced the results at central admission office in the university’s administrative building in the afternoon, local media reports said.

This year the combined pass rate is 26.21 percent. In Science it is 24.56 percent, in Humanities 47.89 percent and in Business 17.94 percent. Of 70,440 examinees, 18,463 admission seekers obtained the pass score.

The results are available on the university website admission.eis.du.ac.bd. Alternatively, students can get the results through sending SMS using any mobile operator. 

To get result through SMS, one will have to type “DU GHA roll number” and send it to 16321.

Students who obtained the pass marks have been asked to fill in the subject choice forms from Oct 22 to Oct 31.

DU Pro Vice-Chancellor (administration) Prof Dr. Muhammad Samad, Dean of the Faculty of Social Science and Coordinator of Gha-unit admission test Prof Dr Sadeka Halim were present during the announcement of the results. 

Earlier on Monday, hours after issuing a press release on publishing the results Tuesday, the DU authorities issued another press release saying that the result publishing has been postponed as per the directives of the VC over the allegation of question paper leak.

Fourteen images of handwritten question papers of Dhaka University Gha unit entry tests were spread on social media on Friday, prior to the beginning of the exam. After scrutinising the images and the original question paper provided at the exam halls, it was found out that 72 MCQ questions got matched.
