Students and job seekers postponed their agitation until a gazette on PM announcement of scrapping the quota system in public service is published. Demonstrating students made the announcement at a media briefing at Raju Sculpture, adjacent to TSC, Dhaka University on Thursday (Apr 12) in response to the Wednesday’s decision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in this regard, local media reports said.
“We are demanding that the government publish a gazette of PM’s announcement. Till then we call off our demonstration”, Hasan Al Mamun, convener of the platform, said in a short speech at the briefing.
Meanwhile, students gave PM the epithet of ‘Mother of Education’ for her stance in education.
