SSC, equivalent exams begin today

This year’s Secondary School Certificate and its equivalent examinations will begin today. The written exams will continue till Feb 25 while practical exams will be held between Feb 26 and Mar 4.

Education minister Nurul Islam Nahid at a press conference on Wednesday (Jan 31) said that all possible steps had been taken to prevent question leak during the exams. He said that the coaching centres had remained closed since Jan 26 following a government directive and they would continue to remain shut till the end of the exams.

Every examinee must take his or her seat in their respective centres 30 minutes before the start of any exam.

The minister said that teachers and others would be barred from carrying any cell phone inside exam centres. "Only exam centre secretary will be allowed to carry a cell phone that has no camera," he added.
