Bangla Khayal Utshab in Dhaka

Channel i is organising its annual "Bangla Khayal Utshab 2018" at its premises in the capital's Tejgaon area. This nightlong musical event is returning for the fourth year. The event is scheduled to begin in the evening of Jan 31 and will continue till the next morning (Feb 1).

A total of 34 institutions, including the Department of Music from University of Dhaka, and 150 artistes from across the country will participate in this year's festival. The festival's main attraction is a performance by 200 new singers.

To announce the festival, a press conference was held at the Channel i premises on January 30. Channel i Director and Head of News Shykh Seraj, noted music exponent Azad Rahman and a number of Bangladeshi Classical Music artistes including Dr. Asit Kumar Roy, Ustad Anil Kumar Saha, Ustad Karim Shahbuddin, Dr. Nashid Kamal, Dr. Jagodananda Roy and Dr. Harunur Rashid were some of the key personalities attending the press conference.
